Beginning the first of December and running to December 12th, students were asked to bring in loose change to support their ‘Christmas Coins for Change’ project. “The goal was to raise $300 to sponsor a Christmas meal at the soup kitchen,” said teacher Debbie Reid. “Once the newspapers and radio got involved, people walked in off the street with change and some people called the school to request their change to be picked up.”

“Collecting these coins and spending many hours rolling are our E.G. Wahlstrom School Ambassadors” said teacher and advisor Mrs. Reid.

The ‘Christmas coins for change’ was a joint project between E.G. Wahlstrom School and Slave Lake’s K.A.R.E. committee.
