Cake, more cake and even more cake was the theme as the Roland Michener Graduation Class of 2009 held their Annual Cake Auction.

“It brought together students of both junior and senior high, parents, community businesses and staff members for lots of fun,” said Terry Mosher, teacher and grad advisor “and for the last five years the Grad Mother’s Day Cake Auction has been very successful.”

imgp7181The cake auction is a major grad fundraiser and Ken Giblin, the chief auctioneer from Century 21 has been a big part of that success. “We need to show our appreciation and thanks to Ken Giblin for volunteering his time,” said Terry, “he makes sure the auction runs smoothly and offers everyone an opportunity to bid on and to purchase a cake.”

Ken is a professional auctioneer and  has been doing the grad fundraiser for as long as he can remember, “well over ten years,”  he said, “and it is amazing how much money the students raise, and it would not be possible if it was not for all the support of the community.”

RMSS wishes to thank the community, parents, faculty and students, for their continued support of the grad class of 2009.

Many of the cakes were auctioned off for hundreds of dollars and Myslavelake.com  took photos of most of the cakes and we included them all in our ‘Cake Auction’ photo gallery.
