Year-end celebrations at Michener
Students and staff at Roland Michener were wrapping up another school year with exams and lots of year-end activities and celebrations.
The Junior High held their Farewell Dance for Grade 9 students on June 4. The dance was a “neon” black light dance and during the evening certificates were awarded to the departing grade 9 students for their “memorable traits.”
Lazy Boy Wednesday awards were presented to Ashtyn T and Corbin C for having demonstrated some positive action during the previous week.
On June 19, Junior High Students enjoyed a Friday afternoon of fun activities with participation from the Slave Lake Regional Fire Service.
“The purpose of the fun day was to give the students a fun send off and a nice way to end the school year,” said Ms. Boyle, ”$400 was raised and $200 will be donated to the Fire Department as a thank you for all their help and all they do in the community.”
In early June, the Michener Music Department held their year-end Band Concert and a 1950’s theme Coffehouse.
The year-end activities for the Graduation Class of 2009 included their annual Garage Sale held at the end of May and the Grad BBQ held June 5.
