Beach Boot Camp, get ready to work

Running, jumping and playing is the theme for the beach boot camp running this July in Slave Lake.

“It’s a fun supportive, non-competitive way to work out,” says Tasha Albert, Beach Boot Camp instructor. “We will be using the power of sand to increase the intensity of the exercises.”

The class runs every Tuesday and Thursday from July 7 to July 30 at 6 pm.

Sand training, like pool plyometrics and other low impact methods, is a great way to get a workout without taxing your joints too much. It is up to each individual participant to monitor their own levels of ability, especially considering the added intensity of the sand.

“The classes are not the military boot camps that some people envision,” Alberta went on to say. ” Participants will be encouraged to work harder, longer, faster and safer, at their own personal levels. Students see results from these classes but most importantly they have fun doing it.”

Previous boot camps have seen well over 100 participants. Register soon to guarantee your place as classes are limited to 6:00 pm only. Register online at www.tashaalberta.com or call 780 805-0460 for more information
