“Who would have thought the hottest day this summer would be in September,” said Harry Bartlett, master ticket seller with the Rotary Club.

Out of the 1,490 tickets sold, 28 people thought so and according to Bartlett most of them were female.

For $2 per ticket you were asked to guess the hottest day & hour in Slave Lake between June 1 and September 30, 2009.

With a heavy snowfall in the middle of May, one should have guessed that the weather would be crazy this summer.

“There were lots and lots of questions, more than any other raffle,” said Bartlett, “people were always stopping me and asking what was the hottest day so far. There was definitely a lot of interest.”
