Jim Gamble is the Grand Champion of the Rotary Club’s Texas Hold’em fun Poker Tournament held Oct. 17 at the Sawridge Inn & Conference Centre.
“It was another fun evening and 86 players participated in the tournament,” said Harry Bartlett. “We usually have a lot more but we were competing with a lot of other activities taking place that weekend.”
Silas Belcourt was the 50/50 winner and Marshall Sloan claimed the prize for the highest hand of the evening with “4 queens.” Sloan also finished 4th overall.
Proceeds from the Fun Poker Tournament will go to various Rotary supported community initiatives.
The Rotary Club has several other fundraising activities on the go. The cash raffle with a 1st prize of $10,000 is already over 70 % sold. Tickets for “The Perfect Stocking Stuffer” can be purchased at Boston Pizza, The Business Factory or anywhere you might find “Harry” selling tickets. The draw date for the cash raffle is Dec. 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Boston Pizza.
Hot off the press are tickets for the “BIG CHILL”, the winter version of the “Heat is on” tickets. You guess what you think is going to be the COLDEST day between Dec. 21/09 and March 21/10 and the closest guess to the actual temperature will be the winner.
The 1st place prize is $800 and the deadline to purchase a $ 2.00 ticket is Dec. 20.
