FOOTHILLS BRASS QUINTET CONCERT
The Foothills Brass, an exceptional Calgary-based quintet of Canadian musicians, has been delighting audiences across North America and overseas for 25 years. Five outrageous, high energy personalities present a polished show that is entertaining and full of musical variety. Most importantly, it is an invitation to the audience, with a friendly smile and "off key" humour, to bring them closer to the music than they have ever been before. BABYSITTER'S SAFETY PROGRAM
Students must be 12 years of age upon course completion. This program prepares students to perform competently in guarding the health & safety of children placed in their charge and gives the students both the knowledge and the assurance necessary to care for young children.
Topics covered: Role of the Babysitter, Caring for Children, Positive Behavior Management, Home & Outdoor Safety, Injury Prevention, First-Aid & Fire Safety and Child Development.

BIG BAND BASH
Sponsored by Roland Michener Music Support Society. Includes two action-packed days of entertainment for 200 grades 7 to 9 students from Valleyview, Whitecourt, Donnelly, Slave Lake and Jarvie. The event includes direct participation by students in various instrument clinics, mass band sessions, sectional rehearsals and a mini concert on Sunday afternoon. A highlight is the participation of Guest Conductor Taina Lorenz.
Other activities planned for the weekend include swimming and games, a talent show, a sleepover at the school, and a Saturday night dance and concession.
