The Literacy & Learning Site Presents a new Free Workshop: “Strength Within” with Kim Versloot

Learn how to look for your inner strengths. Practice finding strength you didn’t know about. This workshop promises to provide positive ideas for how to access resilience and feel centered even in difficult times.

BABYSITTER'S SAFETY PROGRAM

Friday, May 29 & Saturday, May 30 from 9 am - 4 pm at Northern Lakes College. Fee: 30/student. Registration Deadline Friday, May 7. Call Michelle at 780 849-8000 for more information.

Students must be 12 years of age upon course completion. This program prepares students to perform competently in guarding the health & safety of children placed in their charge and gives the students both the knowledge and the assurance necessary to care for young children.

Topics covered: Role of the Babysitter, Caring for Children, Positive Behaviour Management, Home & Outdoor Safety, Injury Prevention, First-Aid & Fire Safety and Child Development.

The Community Corporate Challenge is: A local, organized, recreational event for adults. An event that fosters employee interaction, teamwork, pride, Health & Wellness. One week of physical and mental challenges geared for adults of all abilities. A friendly rivalry amongst businesses, organizations or teams of family/ friends

Who Can Enter? Any organization, company or community group may enter a team or teams. One team consists of at least 8 adults (18 + years). At least 2 members must be of the opposite sex. Each team is required to provide 4 volunteers to help out with the events.

How to Enter? Entry fee is $25 per person. Register by filling out an entry form at Town of Slave Lake office. All team members receive a Community Corporate Challenge T-shirt and entrance to all the events. ONLY paid participants may enter the events. Cheques are payable to the Town of Slave Lake, Box 1030 Slave Lake, Alberta T0G 2A0
